Breakfast will still be available for all of our guests, but we are now offering you more flexibility to tailor your stay according to your breakfast preferences. Now you can choose to add our standard breakfast buffet, a sandwich on the go, or no breakfast at all. This choice can be made before arrival, or at the hotel. Today we have guests who pay for breakfast, even if they do not want or need it.

We will offer you the flexibility to tailor your stay according to your breakfast preferences. This means that you now have the option to include the breakfast in your stay (just like before), choose to grab something smaller from the shop on the go, or exclude the breakfast completely – before arrival, or at the hotel.

By charging for breakfast separately, we can offer more competitive room rates, making our hotel accessible to a wider range of budgets, while we also allow you to decide whether to include breakfast with your stay or not. However, our pricing is dynamic, which means prices vary based on things such as demand, location, and time of the year. Scandic does not fix prices at a certain level.  

Breakfast will always be offered at the lowest price when you pre-book (on Scandic website, OTA such as Expedia.com or Booking.com or through call centers). If you book a room without breakfast, you can easily add breakfast at the hotel at a slightly higher price. And if you would like to add breakfast the same morning at the restaurant, the price will be higher (like walk-ins). The prices may differ from hotel to hotel but will be displayed when you book.

Children under 13 continue to eat breakfast for free, when breakfast is booked with a room in advance. At check-in and walk-in, we charge a children’s price for breakfast, 75 NOK/SEK/DKK, or 6 EUR. In Germany and Poland, the children's rate is 50% of the adult price (children aged 0–3 at no cost).

No. Breakfast will still be available for our guests, but by making breakfast optional we can offer more competitive room rates while also allowing you to decide whether to include breakfast with your stay or not. This is something that is already standard at our Signature Hotels, our Scandic Go Hotels as well as at our hotels in Germany in Poland, and it is highly appreciated by our guests.
We know that several other hotel players already charge for breakfast, so this is an adaptation to the rest of the international market while we also give more flexibility to our guests.

No, if you are a corporate customer, breakfast is included as usual in your stay, just like before.

Yes, if you are a Scandic Friends member at level 1–5, breakfast is not included. Loyal Friends (level 5) can still enjoy a 2-for-1 offer on breakfast, whether staying at the hotel or just visiting. True Friends (level 6) to Best Friends (level 7) can still enjoy the benefit of a complimentary breakfast at all our hotels, whether you're staying or just dropping by. You can check in from 16:00. If you arrive earlier, you can store your baggage in the hotel's baggage area until your room is ready. If the room has been cleaned and is ready before 16:00, you may have access to the room earlier. Please be aware of our additional charge for early check-in. Early check-in is from 10.00 and a fee of approx. 20 EUR will apply (200 SEK/NOK/DKK or 80 Zloty). Other prices apply to our signature hotels in Norway.

The room is yours until 12:00 on your day of departure. If you wish to check out later than 12:00, please contact reception. Please be aware of our additional charge for late check-out. If you are a member and have reached Level 3, Close Friend or higher, you can enjoy a complimentary late checkout of +1 hour, subject to availability at check-in. Late check-out is until 16.00 and a fee of approx. 20 EUR will apply (200 SEK/NOK/DKK or 80 Zloty). Other prices apply to our signature hotels in Norway.

The majority of our hotels offer the option to check out online.

It's quick and easy and no queues. You choose when you would like to check out, for example, you can settle your bill the night before. You receive your receipt by email.

We send an invitation to everyone who registers a mobile number and/or e-mail address at check-in. Currently, we are only offering this self-service option to those who pay for their stay with a debit or credit card. In order to take advantage of this offer, you need access to a smartphone, tablet or computer.

The day before your departure (17:00 at the earliest) you receive an SMS text message and/or e-mail message with a link to the online check-out. There you can review your bill, add purchases from the mini-bar, update your address details and pay for your stay. After paying and choosing your check-out time, you are ready. Your receipt is sent as a PDF to your e-mail address on your departure day. If you're a member of Scandic Friends, you can save your card information on your profile, for an even quicker check out next time.

You can pay with the same cards that are accepted at reception; Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Diners, Dankort (Denmark) and JCB.

Be careful not to use any special characters in the boxes for name and card number, e.g. (.) (,) (-) (/) (:).

Your receipt is sent electronically as a PDF to your e-mail address by 12:00 at the latest, on your departure day. If you have chosen to check out earlier than 12:00, for example at 08:00, the receipt will be e-mailed directly after 08:00. If you do not receive your receipt by e-mail after check-out, please contact the hotel.

If you haven't received a receipt for your stay via e-mail, you can contact the hotel and we will send you a new receipt. Contact information for the hotel can be found on the hotel website.

You can leave your room key at reception or put it straight into the designated key box next to reception.

Click on Booking Code, Bonus Cheque or Reward Night and enter the code in the ‘Add booking code’ field in our booking dialogue. Discount codes that you can use here include gift cards and promotion codes.

You must have a valid booking code. This can be found on the Mecenat website, along with terms and conditions for student discounts. Enter the code in the ‘Add booking code’ field in our booking dialogue.

Instructions for booking with a gift card can be found on the front of your gift card.

Please note that gift cards with values of 100 or 500 can only be used when booking Flex products, as payment must take place at the hotel. These gift cards cannot therefore be used to book Save or other products that are charged at the time of booking.

When you book your hotel stay you will get the option to click "Guarantee booking for late arrival" in the booking process, in the section Final step.

Cancellation terms depend on the price agreed at the time of booking. Read the information in the price list carefully. Unless otherwise agreed when making a booking, or where other terms apply to the selected rate, cancellations are permitted up until 18:00 local time on the day of arrival. If you do not show up and you have not cancelled the booking in advance, or if you cancel after 18:00 local time, you will be charged for one night’s accommodation. For our hotels in Germany and Poland, you must pay 90% of your booked stay if you have not cancelled in advance, or have cancelled after 18:00 on the day of arrival.

Bookings made on the website can be both changed or cancelled here, click on ‘View booking/Cancellation’. Bookings made via central booking or directly with the hotel cannot be changed/cancelled via the website. Please contact our central booking on telephone number +46 8 517 517 00.

Yes, you can book without prepaying your reservation. Payment takes place at the hotel instead. However, reservations at a Save rate and some promotions must be paid at the time of booking.

We can always find your reservation upon check in as long as you have a valid ID card with you.

Stayover cleaning will be optional for all guests staying more than one night. Cleaning during the stay is available for all our guests, at no extra expense. Please inform the reception at check in or latest by 23.00 the day before.

The gift card contains a value of any amount, minimum 20 EUR (local currency) that can be used as payment or partial payment at all Scandic hotels in the country for which the gift card was purchased. Please note that the gift card cannot be used for prepaid products.

No, unfortunately, you cannot use gift cards of any denomination for prepaid bookings.

The gift card will be sent as a PDF via email to you or the email address you provided in your order. If you have not received your email, please check your spam and junk folders.

The gift card is valid for a full 12 months from the date of purchase for gift cards to be used in Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden. The gift card is valid for a full 36 months from the date of purchase for gift cards to be used in Germany. Note that the gift card must be valid throughout the stay, including both the check-in and check-out dates.

Yes, the QR code must be clearly visible for scanning, either on your mobile or printed on paper.
